Family / Kids Session Guide

The lighting for outdoor sessions is best during the 1-2 hours before sunset or during the 1-2 hours after sunrise.
The lighting for indoor sessions varies depending on the location, but is typically best between 10am and 4pm.
Kids sessions can vary depending on the plan for the session.

I will help guide you through the basic poses. I will also give you some actions and tips to help things feel more candid… and fun!
I typically offer suggestions of where I think the photos will look best, based on the lighting. But I always love when clients have input! If you have a favorite flower, color scheme or look that you like, let me know!
I have a list of photos I am sure to always capture but love to see your inspirations and ideas also! I am happy to capture anything you want!

My lifestyle sessions are around 30-minutes. (I know what you’re thinking. Is that really enough time?! But trust me… I can get a LOT of photos in 30 minutes).
If you feel your child may need more time to warm up or simply just run around between shots and explore, you may want to choose the extended session to give yourself the full hour.
Some locations require more walking to get to different spots so I always recommend showing up a few minutes early to make our way to the first location.
In 30-minutes I take an average of 400 images and keep things efficient by moving and changing poses. I promise I will always make sure that we get enough variety and everyone is happy!

This session can be anything you envision! It could be a first birthday cake smash or a siblings session. It could even be a session where they are simply just being them and I am a fly on the wall.
Kids grow so fast, so my kids sessions are open to capturing those special moments when you can, to remember forever. Some of my favorite sessions with my own kids include riding their bikes around or doing the things they enjoy most!

100% YES! Furry family members are always welcome too! Depending on your pets’ personalities, I have a variety of tricks to try and get them to perform in the shot.
The only thing that pets will impact is location options. (Some locations don’t allow pets.) But I know plenty of spots that do!

Your clothing should both reflect your personality and also be something you feel comfortable in!
I provide a very detailed style guide with the colors that work best with my editing style.
I also provide a link with an online styling website that allows you to dress your entire family from head to toe including accessories all with a color scheme in mind!
I have a client closet with a handful of dresses to choose from as well.
